Academic Institutes in Haiti
The Haitian People is seriously deprived of useful information at all level. Considering that a high percentage of Haitians are illiterate and semi-illiterate, disseminating useful information to the Haitian people thru print media has always an exercise in futility. As a result, the masses of Haiti ought to inform thru spoken and visual media in plain Haitian creole, namely airwave radio stations and video documentaries and editorials.
Access to information, useful or not, has three main sources: popular media, academic journals, and government publications. It is safe to point out that very few if any academic journals exist or ever existed in Haiti.
